Marketing your home staging business

You cannot have a successful home staging company without marketing. For clients to want to work with you, they have to get to know you and trust you.

If you don't have a presence on the internet, clients perceive you as not really having a business. A hobby, maybe. But not a professional business.

Design your own home staging website

The internet has made marketing really affordable. Some providers even have free websites. These are more limited in what they offer, of course, but if you can't afford to pay for a website, it's a start.

Most website providers have templates which you can easily make use of. You don't need a designer, although designers do make websites look much better.

It may not be perfect but it is necessary

I started my Home Staging business - Home Stagers Cape Town - doing my own website. It was a sort of salmon colour and had cute illustrations. My marketing coach at the time told me salmon is too weird a colour for most people and sends off the wrong "energy". The cute illustrations didn't evoke a feeling of modernism.

My first attempt at a website - hard to believe now!

Here's my current one. Not perfect, but a whole different look that brings in the clients. I hired a designer to make me something more upmarket looking, with more neutral colours and better photos. Now that I am more proficient in Wix, I fiddle around a lot with my websites - the training one and the staging one.

Neither of them are perfect. But they give enough information about what I do for potential clients to contact me for more information and quotes. I get at least one lead a day these days.

The long and short of it is: as a home stager you need a website, even if it only one page

If you're just starting as a home stager or you want to grow your home staging business, these courses will help you in a big way.
